5 Reasons to Check Out Sir Henry's This Valentines Season

Back for its third year in a row, Sir Henry's Haunted Trail Love's Revenge is Orlando's Premier Valentine Haunt! This year it features 2 Haunted Trails, Laser Tag, and Ax Throwing, in addition to amazing walk around characters and an unforgettable experience. Sir Henry's Haunted Trail is located in Plant City, Florida that has recently been awarded Top Haunt Attraction in Florida (via thescarefactor.com). Each year they host 2-3 haunted trail events comprised of hand built sets and a complete cast of volunteer actors ranging from 12 years and older.
Whether you are an avid fan of Sir Henrys or just looking for a unique date spot to take your loved one to this year, here are five reasons Sir Henry's Haunted Trail is the place to be in February 2022.
5. Female Centered Stories
Single ladies deserve love too and this year's trails do just that. Both Blood Wedding and Cry of Death do an amazing job featuring female led stories this year.
Blood Wedding tells the story of soon-to-be bride, Sarah Devereux as she prepares for her wedding, said to be the "Event of the Season." The night before the wedding, Sarah finds her Fiancé with another woman! In one swipe, Sarah rips the fire ax out of the wall, beheading her once Fiancé. Throughout this trail we watch as Sarah stalks the halls of her manor, searching for any man who might try and do the same to her.
The second trail, Cry of Death, follows a land siren named Abigail, as she sees out her
ill-fated love and captain to his inevitable death. With every turn, fans are greeted with the deafening cries of the sirens on their quest for death. The sailors scream out, "Cover your ears!" But will you listen to them or the sirens?
4. A Tricky Escape Game
Perhaps being stuck with your loved one is what you look to on Valentine's day. Look no further than Darla's Dollhouse; A 3 minute escape game exclusive to Love's Revenge. Escape games have been a recent addition To Sir Henry's in the past few events with their first being for Halloween 2021 where only a few guests a night were able to escape with more than a few seconds to spare. Escape room creator, Calvin Hogan, claims that the games have gotten a bit easier as the events went on, but we'll let you decide that for yourself.
Darla needs your help to find her missing teddy bears. Using skill and a bit of patience, it's your job to locate the bears and crack the code to unlock the door. Perhaps this could test the waters to see if you and your date not only have what it takes to escape, but to work together.
3. Give The Gift of Lore
While your date comes to an end, make a stop at Sir Henry's Swag Shop to get your partner a little something to close the night. The Swag Shop features typical items like T-shirts and Hoodies as well as more unique items such as "Love Potions", earrings, and specialty candles.
However the star of the merchandise booth is Sir Henry's Haunted Tales; A companion book to the event written by new author, Amanda Rosenblatt. Rosenblatt came up with the idea for the book after the Valentine's event of 2021 saying, "There needs to be a book about these characters. They all need to come together in this weird trick or treat anthology type of way where Sir Henry ties them all together." After working with haunt owner and Sir Henry himself, Zach Glaros, Rosenblatt was able to piece together stories and origins from the events many icons. Perhaps a new addition to the lore will come out in a sequel novel...
2. Walk Around Scares
Speaking of icons, one of the things Sir Henry's does best is drawing guests in the moment they step inside the gates. Each event has icons themed to the event's holiday. Elves for christmas, Cupid for Valentines day... Sir Henry himself appears each day.
As you walk around, there is a good chance characters like Cupid might just give you a Valentine or even try and scatter you with rose petals. Vex Demonia might try and "zap" you away from your loved one. Sir Henry might even come around and make sure you're having a good time. The event is able to feel more intimate this way; Something bigger haunts are rarely able to do.
1. Its a haunt...for Valentine's Day
Obviously the number one reason to check out Sir Henry's this season is for the sheer fact that it's a haunted event for Valentine's Day! Valentine's Day is one of the last holidays you would except to see an event like this pop up, making it all the more interesting. The inspiration for an event like this was seemed to be an insanely thought out project, but event designer Calvin Hogan says the reason this holiday is so easy is its time during the year. February was described to be far enough before any major Haunt event announcements such as Universal's Halloween Horror Nights, but just far enough after to make people start to miss a good scare. After the first Valentine's event, fans begged for its return year after year.
Sir Henry's Haunted trail has always been such a unique and intimate haunt experience and something our team looks forward to every year. This year, Love's Revenge will run for 2 days on both February 11th and 12th from 6:30-11:00 PM. Tickets can only be purchased through their website prior to the event and as always, closed toed shoes are recommended.
